1. Who you are contracting with
These terms govern your use of this website and the German language courses provided by Basuni German Language Courses ("we", "us"). By using the site, enrolling in a course or completing a purchase, you agree to these terms. Contact: hallo@german.basuni.com.
2. Eligibility
You confirm that you are of legal age to enter into this agreement, or that you have the permission of a parent or guardian, and that any information you provide during enrolment is accurate and kept up to date. If you enrol on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
3. What we provide
Depending on the programme you choose, we provide live online German classes, self-paced recorded lessons with doubt-clearing sessions, one-to-one intensive sessions, speaking labs, and career-focused German training. Course content, schedules and level placement may be adjusted so the teaching fits your level and goals.
4. Your account and conduct
You must not misuse the service. In particular, you must not:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose, or for fraud, spam or harassment;
- share, resell, record, redistribute or publish our course materials, recordings or live sessions;
- infringe our intellectual property or that of any third party, or attempt to reverse engineer or circumvent technical limits of the service;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the service, including introducing malware, probing or scraping.
You are responsible for keeping your access credentials confidential and for activity that takes place under your enrolment.
5. Intellectual property
All course materials, recordings, exercises, branding and website content remain our property or that of our licensors. On payment, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the materials for your own personal learning within the plan you purchased. Books sold through affiliate links are supplied by the respective retailer and are subject to that retailer's terms.
6. Payments, subscriptions and taxes
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Prices are shown on the site in euro and, unless stated otherwise, are charged monthly in advance for subscription plans, or as a one-time payment for intensive session bundles. Subscription plans renew automatically each month until cancelled, and payment may be taken by card or SEPA Direct Debit where you have given a mandate. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. You can cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
7. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Availability and service level
We aim to deliver classes as scheduled, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free. Occasionally a session may be rescheduled; we will give you notice and offer a replacement session where reasonably possible.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious misconduct towards teachers or other students. You may stop using the service at any time by cancelling your plan. On termination, your right to use our materials ends.
10. Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee any specific exam result, certification or career outcome. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, data or opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, from content you submit, or from your breach of these terms.
12. Changes, governing law and disputes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the last change, and continued use after an update means you accept it. These terms are governed by German law, and the courts of Germany have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger or transfer of the business. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
